Hidden Gem on Beacon Hill When I arrived at Family Friend, I honestly wasn’t sure if we were in the right spot. This hidden treasure only reveals itself by a small neon sign — unassuming, but absolutely worth the find. Once inside, I felt an immediate sense of warmth and comfort. There was no hostess at first, but we were seated quickly by Sharon, whose smile and energy could light up any room. Her service alone deserves a standing ovation — patient, kind, and passionate about every dish she described. Start with the Corn Soup (Rosary Style) — sweet corn, tender chicken thighs, coconut milk, onion, and garlic. It’s silky, vibrant, and layered with comfort and spice. The Gollai Hågun Sope — mustard greens & kale in coconut milk and turmeric over corn. A vegan dream — not a large portion, but rich in flavor and nourishment. Riyenu Empanadas — beautiful in presentation, though a bit too fried for my taste. The creamy green fina’dene sauce, however, was divine and worth the order alone. Signature Old Fashioned — honey-forward and sweeter than expected; if you’re a traditionalist, you might prefer a classic version. The outdoor patio was my favorite surprise — warm heaters, cozy art-covered walls, and an intimate setup perfect for date nights or quiet reflection. Accessibility was great, and while I wouldn’t call it “kid-focused,” it’s perfect for adults seeking calm conversation and quality food. Final thoughts: Modern, soulful, and filled with heart. A neighborhood must-try that feels like home away from home. I’ll be back to try the fried chicken and smash burger everyone’s raving about. #SeattleEats #BeaconHillSeattle #HiddenGemSeattle #FamilyFriendRestaurant #SeattleFoodies #EatLocalSeattle #VeganSeattle #FoodieInfluencer #1MillionViewsPlate #SeattleDateNight #ComfortFoodWithSoul #SeattleDiningExperience

This place was hailed as having one of the best burgers in town, and it did not disappoint. I loved the charred, crispy edges of the smash burgers and the umami-rich flavor of the sauce and toppings they added to it. It also came with thin truffle fries which were extra crispy and elevated — did not even need ketchup. We also shared the bulgogi red rice and I could eat this every day. The beef was tender and well-seasoned with that delicious bulgogi flavor. Ot came with an assortment of pickled vegetables and the rice was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I can’t wait to go back for more and try their chicken adobo tacos! We got there just as they opened at 5 PM and got a table immediately but by 5:30 it was packed!

A relatively new Korean inspired restaurant serving comfort food in a laid back and friendly atmosphere. Located in a “house” in a mostly residential district. Very easy to miss as just a house with a tiny sign in the window. Free street parking is available a couple blocks down the road in a mini business area. A small menu with very good Korean inspired comfort food. One of their best dishes is a smash burger, that I highly recommend paying $5 for an extra patty. There is a small outdoor area in the back with a separate bar that’s great to hang out at when the weather is good. Service is good. Definitely worth a visit.

Absolutely obsessed with Family Friend. The smash burger is unreal and the truffle fries were amazing. The corn chowder was also great and comforting. The music is a whole vibe, the service is quick and friendly, and it truly feels like an IYKYK kind of spot. Everything about the experience feels easy and intentional. They also have a great patio space that’s perfect for private parties, which I will definitely be utilizing in the future. If you know, you know.

We walked in with 5 people on Monday night and were lucky enough to get the last available large table. This is a small restaurant so definitely go at an off-peak time if you're with a large group. Given the small space, it is a very cozy and intimate setting that truly feels like your having dinner in a family home. The Kewpie burger is often recommended as the best burger in Seattle and for very good reason. The crispy smashburger with raw onions and pickles make for a well balanced and addictive bite. Plus the truffle fries are deliciously crispy. My friend also tried the corn soup and thoroughly enjoyed it. Street parking only in this area; easy to find a spot within a couple blocks.

Interesting dishes, some more flavorful than others. We loved the corn soup, seafood tostadas and chicken adobo tacos. The burger was good but definitely not worth the hype. The fried chicken was over fried. Cute spot, good service!

Everything we had was incredibly tasty! I loved the vibes and the service. Although it was slightly pricey for the portion size, I absolutely loved the fusion dishes they created here and so I found it worth the price!

Great spot. Guamanian food interest my curiosity. The food is delicious and it’s got a vibe. I’ve been there a few times and love that they change up the menu. The corn chowder is great. The bulgogi entree was great. I had the chicken adobo tacos. The service was great. I just had the bartender make me a yummy drink with mezcal and it was fabulous!
